I think you'd get the 80s at least one skip sooner than me, Major unless you recognise the drum machine in which case jackpot.
Is the 70s one I should know? I've no recollection of ever hearing it even though the band are famous. 60s I found grand. It was familiar even though the band name wasn't. The first line of singing was unique enough for me to think of the chorus and that gave me the name. Hearing and not hearing things are the random events of life.
I got the 80's from the riff and the less said about the other 2 the better 😂

60s I flopped. Was actually gonna type in the artist but went with something different and wrong.
70s I had to skip to the guitar to get it.
80s straight in there. So at least my 80s are back on track.

Well before I say goodnight I’ll let you know how I got on tonight.
60s I had to skip til near the end before I recognised the track.
70s I hadn’t a clue.
80s I recognised the tune immediately but couldn’t think of the song title so I googled some of the lyrics so you could say I cheated a little bit. Not only had the song title evaded me but I honestly never knew that the song was recorded by this act.

The 80s was also a total fail. Having listened to it all now I realise I have heard the chorus somewhere along the way in life and it’s fairly famous but I didn’t recognise it from the intro. The intro was vaguely familiar but other than thinking of similarities with a Bryan Adams’ song that was about the size of my recollection.

But you knew the lyrics from the intro to the 80s Major. Heardle didn’t offer any singing. That’s knowing the song which is the name of the game. If we Google lyrics that we’re listening to because we’ve no actual clue what the song is that would be different!
