In my defence my brain was distracted by the 80s video from committing the audio intro to my memory as it’s uncomfortably close to an all-out parody. If I could travel back in time I would probably find my young self diving to change radio or TV stations every time an intro like this came on. Remotes and hyperactivity diagnoses were in the future.

I must be getting to be an expert choosing words from the lyrics .😁
60s I hadn't a clue so I played right til the end and chose 1 word from the lyrics and lo and behold I selected the correct answer.
70s straight in there although I'm not sure if it's ok to admit knowing the intro.
80s I had to skip to 6 seconds til the artist spoke (Not sang) .
So not a perfect 3/3 by any means but 2 days in a row now I've got the 60s from a bit of detective work so pleased with the results!😁
Late and a bit up the walls today. 70s is funny as I think it's an example of revenge ripping off. After The Sex Pistols took a riff from this band for Pretty Vacant and got some stick for admitting it, this band showed that everyone—regardless of how different they wished to appear—was mining the same plot when they produced this nod to the rhythm guitar of Anarchy In The UK. No time to essay today.

You may have heard the 60s song Major? I first heard it as a Stones single from the 70s. One of the writer’s names I knew from the Motown era. Ever since I read about Lou Reed’s early career I’ve been fascinated with song-writing factories.
I checked out the original and preferred it. No offence, Mick. To my ears, though, neither version fully work. You think it’s going to be a Motown classic but I’ve always felt something was missing and it never really gets to where it wants to go. You can’t make gold every time.
Sorry. 80s was a struggle again. Needed the voice but even after submitting and getting to hear the first 30 seconds the intro didn’t become any more familiar. Not saying anything about the singer and struggles but the production itself just sounded overblown and made me think of too many people meddling and coke. Mounds of coke.
Definitely going to have to call a halt to these essays. They’re affecting my ability to get to the point. Single line memos are where it’s at.
Pretty level with Barney and Margaret. 70’s straight in there. 60’s I needed a lyric. 80’s I needed a voice after I abandoned thinking Cyndi Lauper for the first few seconds with the finger snaps. Now I’m immediately thinking ginger snaps…mmm ginger snaps 😋
I tried singing to the chorus of the 80’s one before listening to it in full on Youtube and what I had in my head was right. But I’d also wander immediately into another hit of theirs 😅
