As for today's selection it's 2/3.
60s and 80s instantly recognisable but 70s I hadn't a clue. I know the artist and probably have heard the tune before but hadn't a clue from the intro.
Needed the singing for the 60s. Knew the song but wouldn't have been able to name the band. Chanced an artist for the 70s when all hope was gone and Heardle only offered me one song. Just checked it out on YouTube and I don't have any memory of ever hearing the song. 80s was fun. Good memories. 🤗

I think the Convoy Heardle put up was the 1975 C.W. McCall hit that inspired the Kristofferson Convoy movie in 1978 and was part of a golden era of Trucks and CB radio stuff like White Line Fever and Smokey And The Bandit. McCall’s hit was rerecorded – the version Sugar Tits put up last night on the TV thread – to reference changes made from the original song to the movie.

The 60s & 80s songs I knew the titles straightaway, but for the 70s song, even though I recognised the music immediately, I needed to skip a couple of times for the title to download into my consciousness.

I honestly thought the song and the film Convoy came out at the same time and never would have thought that Smokey was an earlier film.
But then again I was still a young boy in short trousers back then, sure what the feck would I know !🤣😜

Needed the higher guitar riff for the 60s and was told “You threw it all away with that answer!” The 70s riff in the first two seconds was very recognisable. Would potentially have used a skip for the 80s out of a fear that it could also have been a Diana Ross song. Or an Eastenders’ remix. 😉 But, with Major Rubble regretting using a skip I thought I’d better just go for it.
