Almost all the women prosecuted were Romanian. They were generally poor and marginalised young women. Nobody with any power cared when they were being prosecuted and nobody cares now that these awful convictions have not been expunged.

It's rather lousy to point to another study with different findings and not mention this other study only interviewed the gardai to come to the conclusion that gardai are great, a not very surprising finding when you only ask gardai and don't speak to any sex workers
