RIP OTD in 2021 Don Everly, part of the Everly Brothers duo, died (aged 84). Rolling Stone ranked the Everly Brothers No 1 on its list of the 20 Greatest Duos of All Time. In 1986, they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Born OTD 1962. Singer-Songwriter Shaun Ryder was born in Salford. He’s best known as the lead singer of the Happy Mondays, and he was a leading figure in the Manchester cultural scene in the late 1980s. In 1993, he formed Black Grape, with Happy Mondays dancer Bez (Mark Berry).
