RIP OTD in 2020 Peter Green died (aged 73). He founded Fleetwood Mac and composed some of their 1960s classic hits, including: Albatross, Black Magic Woman, Oh Well, The Green Manalishi, and Man of the World. Mental illness led to him leaving the group.

RIP OTD in 1990 Brent Mydland (aged 37), vocalist, songwriter and keyboardist with the rock group, Grateful Dead, died of an “accidental drug overdose”. In 1994, he was posthumously inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of the Grateful Dead.

RIP OTD in 2023 Sinéad O'Connor died (aged 56). Her best known song was a cover of the Prince song, Nothing Compares 2 U. which was a UK and US No.1 hit. She famously ripped up a photo of the Pope on Saturday Night Live. A coroner ruled that she died of natural causes.
