23 August 1962. Singer-Songwriter Shaun Ryder was born in Salford. He’s best known as the lead singer of the Happy Mondays, and he was a leading figure in the Manchester cultural scene in the late 1980s. In 1993, he formed Black Grape, with Happy Mondays dancer Bez (Mark Berry).
