Carly Simon reveals in her new memoir that she almost had an unforgettable sexual encounter with James Bond himself, Sean Connery.
Carly writes that while she was sailing to New York from London in August 1965 aboard the S.S. United States with her sister Lucy, they sent a note to Connery saying what big fans they were of his work.
Connery later invited them for drinks, and the next night in his stateroom asked the girls if they were interested in having a threesome.
Carly writes that one of her friends referred to it as a ‘Simon sisters sandwich.'
Carly was just 20 at the time and her sister Lucy 22, while Connery was 35 and married to the actress Diane Cilento.
The Hollywood Reporter writes that Carly described Connery in her memoir as ‘far handsomer in person,’ but that she ultimately declined his offer of a threesome.
The following night however Lucy went to see Connery in his room and did not return until 5:15am the next morning.
Carly was so mad at her sister for this that she broke up their musical act, The Simon Sisters, when they arrived home in New York.
At the time, Carly was in a relationship with British writer Willie Donaldson, who she would later become engaged to until he jilted the young singer.
