But at least I got to see him and Thin Lizzy on their final tour with him. 1983 ? Christ that's almost 42 years ago ! I am getting old ....

10 January 2016. David Bowie died in New York City (aged 69). His death sparked a wave of national mourning not seen for a rock star since the former Beatle John Lennon was murdered in 1980. The BBC TV news eulogy to him by Will Gompertz described him as: “The Picasso of rock.”

15 January 2018. Irish-born pop star Dolores O’Riordan (aged 46), the lead singer-songwriter of The Cranberries, was found dead at Hilton on Park Lane Hotel in London. An inquest ruled she had most probably “accidentally drowned” in a bathtub, after drinking alcohol.
