I’ll go with the—I’m guessing—questionable version told by Celebrity Sleuth.
I would imagine there is a much more interesting story to be told if it could ever join the dots between the twice-jailed photographer Len Camp, the billionaire mutual investment ‘handler’, Bernie Cornfeld, his ‘harem of adolescent beauties’ and how and when Victoria ended up with him/them in his Geneva pad built by Napoleon, in London and back in the States.
Although Celebrity Sleuth mentions Principal and Cornfeld together in 1971, Victoria had taken out a restraining order against him, possibly in London, in late 1970.
Back in the States, Principal had reputedly also been seeing Desi Arnaz Jr. Junior (17) who, having become a father at 15 with a 15-year-old model, Susan Howe, was also seeing lots of others as part of Cornfeld’s 'set'.

Cornfeld was later jailed for fraud in Switzerland, then acquitted before returning with enough to live on in a 39-bedroom place in Beverley Hills. He would later hook up with Heidi Fleiss.
I'm not sure what to make of Victoria Principal's appearance in a French edition of Playboy in July 1982.
The photos weren't from 1968, above, or Playboy 1973, also above.
