Phil Lynott (Irish rock legend, lead singer with Thin Lizzy) was a huge football fan. His love for Man Utd inspired the famous 'attack, attack, attack' line on 'Yellow Pearl' track, the theme tune to Top of the Pops for many years. I knew about Philo’s love for United, and his Mum running a pub in Manchester that George Best frequented on occasion, but I wasn’t aware of the “attack, attack, attack” line emanating from that love for the Red Devils – so obvious, when I think about it now 🤗
