Goodnight everyone 🤗

Christ I actually slept right through last night !😁

Not sure if it helped me though. Well 60s and 80s I got with no skips so sleep may have helped.

70s? Don't think I would ever get that 1. I tried a guess at the start with the bass and was wrong but I don't think missing a skip made any difference. I simply didn't know the song.

So 2/3 for me today.😎

Couldn't connect the 70s intro with the chorus until the oohs at the last second. Another repeat band. And another example, I think, of not doing enough with the chorus—yes, it's famous but also getting kinda forgotten over time. I'd like to hear a mix where they repeat the first line of the chorus—which is beautiful—after most, if not all of the verse lines. Then the chorus would have the double lines, the second of which is even more beautiful.

It would run like "x happened" then "was it just my etc". Just a thought about why a song with all the ultimate ingredients doesn't bake the ultimate cake.

Once again Miss Houlihan you got the answer to another song I can't remember. Yes I have heard of the band surely but no amount of oohs and aahs would have helped me with that 1.

You are in a league of your own Major !😉

Needed 1 skip for the 60's and 80's tonight. 70's I didn't get which is annoying because I know the song (mainly the chorus) and it's great 😍

You’re miles ahead on the 80s Major! And rock! But I’ll take the compliment if you will… 😘

Most times, these are just random life events that bring us into contact with things rather than any expertise or knowledge. I meant to check if it had been in movies. I feel like it would have been in a few. The Stones did a cover. Did you listen to the chorus? I was surprised you can’t remember it. My first thought was that they had changed it again like happened before. I’ll put it up just in case.

Goodnight Privates. 🤗

Can't find a video clip of Colin Firth humming "silence is golden" in the car during the immense, awkward silences caused by the language barrier between Colin and his crush in Love Actually. I think the high notes make it even funnier 🤣🤣

Well the sleep didn't really help me this morning.

80s I got immediately. Maybe that's a pattern with this artist.

60s I needed the key change before the oohs to get the answer.

70s I knew immediately that I knew the song but could I get to the chorus for the title ! I was thinking of the songwriter's version too and knew this was another version but couldn't think of the artist. So I'm not sure if what I did was cheating or research but I googled the opening lyrics. I could have kicked myself when I seen the answer!

Outstanding knowledge on the 70s and the songwriter Major. I love learning new things. I only knew the hit version. It’s possible I knew before and completely forgot but I don’t think so. After researching I noticed they/or the songwriter cleverly reversed the lyrics for the hit version coz it sounds a bit pushy done the original way.

Ditto as yourself for the 60s and I jumped into the 80s off the beat without noticing the bassline and basically embarrassed myself. That’s my red box and obligatory skip that Heardle does. I quickly corrected myself while blushing but as long as nobody knows my shame I’ll be grand.

Well you did get the 70s with no skips or the help of Google so you’re still way ahead of me !👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

But I don't think I used as many skips for the 60s 1. Funny enough I was looking up that song the other day for some obscure reason. Don't ask me why cos I haven't a notion.🙄

It wasn’t looking good for the 60’s and ooh wouldn’t you know the backing vocals kicked in and saved the day 😂 70’s took a few skips too. 80’s I pulled a Margaret 🤣 Got ahead of myself thinking I knew the drumbeat but quickly rectified the situation after one skip. So, basically….

IT’S SATURDAY ! Have a great weekend everyone.

The Heardles today were a mixed bunch. 70s and 80s couldn’t be easier, instantly recognisable.

60s though I failed miserably. I’m familiar with the song and the artist but honestly didn’t know that intro. Another couple of seconds and I would have got there but it wasn't to be.

So 2/3 ain’t bad I guess.🤔

3 totally recognisable songs. 2 with totally recognisable intros. 1 with 19 seconds of faffing about before launching into the actual song.
