On the other hand it’s one of those that doesn’t really have an all out hit chorus and keeps running into the next verse. I had to play the first two seconds repeatedly until I sang my way through it. No good on a quiz night.

Well sleep or no sleep I still had to skip the 70s track til the artist began singing. I actually thought it was another artist with the first 2 seconds but there was no selection. It is a track that I am familiar with but I wasn't familiar with the intro. Luckily I recognised the singing voice and got there in the end.
60s and 80s were easy peasy! Hopefully Forrest won't think that the 80s track is a 60s track but he would be forgiven for doing so.
70s was a struggle. I do remember the chorus now that I’ve checked it out but I’d long since forgotten how the song gets there. I’m disappointed with that because there’s great pre-chorus link after the first two lines of the verse. Great singing. It’s reminiscent of something like You’re So Vain and I really should have remembered it and been singing it in my head from the start. Bottom line, needed the singing like the Major and Heardle was too helpful with only one option. If I’d have been offered 6 options I’d have been out on my ear. Half a point for knowing the singer and the 60s and 80s were grand.
Good clue about the 80s Major! I think the 60s version is one of the most famous one hit wonders ever. I also feel like we’ve had that already but that could just be because all things Heardle start to blur into a major déjà vu after a bit.

70s - I knew the artist once the singing started and Heardle gave me a song I recognised, so I got lucky
80s - I don't remember it as a 60s song, but I knew the riff straightaway and got the song title before the artist this time.

You never heard the 60s version of the song Forrest ? I honestly hadn't heard of the 60s version before the 80s version hit number 1. The artist's name is very memorable though.

I've googled the song and discovered that I had heard the 60s version before 🤗 Old age is a curse 😏🤭😋
